COVID-19: Breakroom Fitness Commitment to Safety & Health

As we get green-lights from local and state government officials, we’ll notify clients and evaluate best practices in resuming exercise and wellness programs at corporate sites. Although each site is unique, we are committed to a healthy and safe transition.

In alignment with corporate standards, we are dedicated to elevating and maintaining the cleanliness of our workout spaces and the health and safety of all employee members and Breakroom Fitness Staff. Therefore, we’ve made changes to how we operate—all designed to keep our clients, employee members, and instructors safe. Here are the safety measures you can expect:

  • No Touch Classes:
Instructors will help employee members with fitness form through verbal cues. They will not be allowed to touch members and will practice staying within 6 ft. from any member. We will also discourage person-to-person contact, including hugs & high fives.
  • Check-Ins:
In the case where we have digital check-ins, employees will be required to check-in via app through their own devices (i.e phone). In the cases where we have hand-writing check-ins, there will be social distance placards (6 feet apart) to stand on when waiting in line. We will also encourage participants to bring their own pen/pencil to check-in with.
  • Sanitizing Wipes:
Sanitizing wipes will be at the entrance of each location.
  • Staff Health Checks:
Every staff member and instructor will check their temperature before their shift.
  • Maximum Participation:
Based on the square footage of each corporate site, we will determine the maximum number of participants per class. Each participant will receive 6ft x 6ft of space (36 sq. ft.). For example, in a 500 square foot room, there could be 12 participants and 1 instructor.
  • Member Responsibility:
To ensure everyone’s safety, we will be most effective if we all make sure to do our part in it. Aside from respecting the safety guidelines put in place by our governments, please make sure to practice social distancing and follow the markers placed around the space to maintain a safe distance. If you have a cough, fever, or symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to class until you’re symptom-free and fever-free for three days. If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to class for 14 days or until you’ve tested negative for COVID-19.

Moving Forward

While we’re taking every precaution to keep our communities safe, we’re acutely aware of and highly prepared for the possibility of a second wave. In the event that there is a reported case of COVID-19 in your class and you were potentially in contact with the individual, you’ll be notified immediately. From there, we’ll take the proper safety precautions to disinfect the space from top to bottom.

With no way to predict what will happen, the best way we can prepare is to respond and evolve as the situation develops—with nothing but your safety in mind.
